Introduction: Zinc selenide material is a yellow transparent polycrystalline material with a crystal particle size of about 70μm and a light transmission range of 0.5-15μm. Synthesized by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) method, there is basically no impurity absorption, and the scattering loss is extremely low. Because of its low absorption of 10.6μm wavelength light, it has become the material of choice for the production of optical devices in high-power CO2 laser systems. In addition, it is also a commonly used material in different optical systems in its entire transmission band.
Product Details:
Zinc selenide has a high transmittance in the 600nm-16μm band, and is often used in thermal imaging, infrared imaging, and medical systems. And because of the low absorption rate of zinc selenide, it is especially suitable for high-power CO2 lasers.
Zinc selenide material has a high resistance to thermal shock, making it the best optical material in high-power CO2 laser systems. The hardness is only 2/3 of the multi-spectral grade ZnS. The material is soft and easily scratched, and the refractive index of the material is large. Therefore, it is necessary to plate a high-hardness anti-reflection coating on the surface to protect it and obtain a higher transmittance. In its usual spectral range, the scattering is very low. When used as a high-power laser device, it is necessary to strictly control the material's bulk absorption and internal structural defects, and use the smallest damage degree of polishing technology and the highest optical quality coating process.
Note: The zinc selenide material is relatively soft (with a Knoop hardness of 120) and is easy to scratch. It is not recommended to be used in harsh environments. Be extra careful when holding and cleaning, pinch or wipe with even force, and wear gloves or rubber finger cots to prevent contamination. Cannot be held with tweezers or other tools.
Application areas:
Used in biomedicine, electronic sensors, optical lenses, protection devices for laser processing heads.
